Sungpil Chae, Portrait d’eau250316, 2025, Pigments naturels sur toile, 116 × 89 cm

“terre anonyme” is part of Sung Pil Chae’s series, using natural earth. “terre anonyme” implies earth, which is a fundamental element of the earth, including the water. As if the earth is changing, like a canyon, and the power of mountains. He intends to depict this scene in a natural way rather than artificial, birth and death of earth, spraying water and pigment, by this natural phenomenon. He is narrating the relationship between nature and the universe.

GoSuga, BEFORE THE BIG BANGER, 2024, Acrylic on canvas, 76 × 92 cm

Go Suga(born in 1980) is Japanese who has grown in Gold coast, Australia since he was 10 years old. In Go’s art, his environment is important. His environment, Gold Coast, is famous for its sun lights and beautiful beach. Go expressed spontaneous emotions that came from this environment in his painting. Go carefully selects the position of objects, trying to make a balanced and interesting wholeness. Most of his work looks bright, tropical, and various beachy atmospheres.  However, Go does not fit into any certain style of subject matter. He reflects inspirations or emotions of certain moments instead. His interest towards social, political, and religion issues are implied as symbol objects on the canvas. Typography, symbols, and signs involve Go’s storytelling from his visual imagination. He loves to explore painting materials from nature or easily find them around, such as sticks, sponges, leaves, rather than just paint brush, to make unique texture and different character in material. Go is working as a graphic designer for a living.
